Grand Canyon Tours from Sedona

If you are interested in seeing the Grand Canyon and are staying in the Sedona area, there are many options to suit your needs. I would recommend the Colorado River Whitewater Tour from Sedona for a wild water adventure led by an experienced Hualapai Indian Guide. You will spend 5 hours on the water with Class II-IV white water rapids, navigating through the largest and most impressive canyon in the world. You will stop to have a light lunch on the banks of the Colorado River and hike through a secret side canyon to the Travertine Falls. At the end of the 14 hour trip, you will rise up 14,000 feet from floor to rim in a helicopter to view the canyon from a different vantage point and take the drive back to your hotel on the river van while viewing a specially prepared video.

Grand Canyon Below the Rim Tour from Sedona

The Grand Canyon Helicopter Tour with Gourmet Lunch from Sedona is another fabulous option, and it gives you a choice between a 30 or 45 minute helicopter flight along with a full-day luxury coach tour from Sedona to the Grand Canyon. The tour begins with a scenic ride from Sedona through Oak Creek Canyon, the Ponderosa Pines of Flagstaff, the San Francisco Peaks and the gorgeous Aspen Groves before stopping at Tusayan to watch an IMAX movie about the Grand Canyon. Entrance fees to Grand Canyon National Park are included in the price of tickets and you will also get a gourmet lunch at the historic El Tovar Lodge on the South Rim (Yavapai or Maswik Lodge for the regular lunch option) followed by a walk along the South Rim for a spectacular view and a visit to the historic Watchtower Observatory. The scenes you will see are indescribable, as if an artist hand painted them. You will not want to forget your camera to take still pictures or video, as you will likely not have a similar experience again.

Other tours to consider are the Grand Canyon Experience Tour with El Tovar Lodge Lunch from Sedona – which is a real treat with over 7 stops, lunch, and an IMAX movie – and the Grand Canyon Freedom Tour from Sedona. This tour provides a great deal of free time for those who are looking to set out and explore on their own for a while at the Grand Canyon. Along the way you will see Oak Creek Canyon, the Painted Desert, the Little Colorado River Gorge, and more. At the Grand Canyon National Park, you will have time to visit the gift shop, look around the historic buildings, or take a walk down part of the South Rim trail.

No matter which tour you choose, you can be sure that you will have a fun and educational time and will have lots of pictures to share with family and friends. Book online for a $5 discount per adult ticket at www.SedonaTours.us!

Helicopter Tours of Sedona

The most popular way to see Sedona by helicopter is through the Sedona Ancient Ruins Helicopter Tour which takes you through Secret Canyon’s enormous 2,000 foot walls and to Mogollon Rim and Secret Mountain before heading to Boynton Canyon to check out the ancient Sinagua Indian ruins.  The trip will take place in a Bell Jet Ranger Helicopter and includes in-flight narrative by a knowledgeable pilot who is ready and willing to answer any questions you may have.

Another option is the Sedona Deluxe Helicopter Tour.  This tour takes you through the most famous red rock formations in Sedona, the Bell and Cathedral Rocks.  You will then descend into Secret and Boynton Canyons where you will see the ancient Sinagua Indian cliff dwellings.  Along the way you will also see Courthouse Butte, The Chapel of the Holy Cross, Snoopy Rock, Submarine Rock, and finally the magnificent Bear Wallow Canyon.   This is a photographer’s dream, as there are endless amounts of photo opportunities sprinkled throughout the 30 minute trip.

You can also take the Grand Helicopter Tour with Gourmet Lunch from Sedona and can choose between a 30 or 45 minute flight along with a full-day luxury coach tour from Sedona to the Grand Canyon.

Arizona Adventures on an ATV

If you are looking for a unique way to explore the rough and tough Phoenix terrain, consider taking an ATV tour.  ATVs, or All Terrain Vehicles, allow you to more easily navigate the various types of land area that you will encounter on your travels in Arizona.
The ATV Adventure of Box Canyon, which departs from Phoenix, gives you a closer look at the desert spread out over a four hour period.  You will take a ride through the impressive 10 foot wide “slot canyon,” whose walls reach up to 100 feet in most places.  You will also check out some gold and silver mining camps and ghost towns that were abandoned back in the 1800s.  Being exposed to all of these natural wonders is a treat in itself, but exploring on an ATV really takes the experience to the next level.

Another tour that is sure to please the adventurer is the Sonoran Desert Tomcar Tour.  The Tomcars, which were designed for use by the Israeli Defense Forces Special Operations Unit, are simple to drive and require only 10 minutes of instruction before you are ready to get up and go! Once you are on your way, you will get the chance to visit gold and turquoise mines, an Indian ruin, an abandoned ghost town and a river crossing.  This journey, which begins in New River, Arizona, lasts for four hours and is appropriate for ages 18 and up.

You will not leave the tour empty-handed.  At the conclusion of your tour, you will receive a free bandana and a picture of your group loaded onto a CD.  Those who wish can also purchase a video of the trip at an additional cost.

Phoenix and the surrounding area are packed with exciting activities like this one, so visit www.PhoenixTours.us for more information and to proceed with booking.

Williams, a city located along Route 66 in Arizona, is the ideal winter vacation spot offering a variety of tours and activities for all ages.  Because it is situated so closely to the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park, Williams draws in an impressive number of visitors each year.

On your trip to Williams, one of the most popular tour options is the Grand Canyon Train.  You can take this tour in one day or you can choose the overnight package if you are looking to spend some extra time checking out the area.  Train tours are a great way to get an overview of the city and its surrounding area before deciding on specific locations to revisit in more detail.  Should you opt for the regular train tour, you will spend just over two hours riding around and getting to know your surroundings a little better.  To make your trip that much more comfortable, there are five classes of train service to choose from, each with its own unique amenities, from a fully stocked bar to reclining seats and large picture windows for optimal viewing.  Knowledgeable guides will be there to educate you along the way, and they are more than happy to answer any questions that may arise.

Not only will you have a lot to look at out the windows of your train car, but you will have a lot going on inside as well.  Strolling musicians will serenade you with music that was popular throughout history, and you will even get to witness the reenactment of an old fashioned shoot out and train robbery.  Once you reach the Canyon, you can walk along the edge as you enjoy an incredible view, or you can board the shuttle bus which will make stops at several scenic checkpoints.  Make sure to bring a camera or camcorder to capture your memories, since you will definitely want to look back at your trip later.

If you are more interested in taking in an aerial view of the Grand Canyon, you can book a ticket on the Helicopter Tour from Grand Canyon South Rim.  These tours can be taken for 25 or 45 minutes depending on your personal timetable, and the views from above the Kaibab Plateau - part of the Colorado Plateau - are not to be missed.  The Kaibab Plateau also houses the largest Ponderosa Pine forests in the world, which are best viewed from above.  You will travel over part of the Painted Desert and the Desert View Watchtower as well, where you can catch the widest view of the Canyon.  Using the path of the Colorado River as a guide, your group will follow it upstream to where it meets with the Little Colorado River.

Your trip to Williams can be booked solid with activities if you choose, with additional tours offered by van, SUV, bus, and river raft.  Visit Williams Tours online to ensure that your next vacation is everything you envisioned and more!

A great way to experience the rugged terrain is on one of the Hummer Tours offered by Phoenix Tours.  On the Four Peaks Hummer Tour in particular, you will cruise around in your comfortable vehicle and enjoy outstanding views of  Arizona’s peaks as you journey along the rough and rocky ground.

You will visit Saguaro Lake, which is a favorite boating location that is brimming with various species of fish.  It is located between Phoenix and Sunflower.  The Superstition Mountains, also highlighted on the trip, are a preferred recreational area for Phoenix area residents and provide the perfect backdrop for your tour.  Finally, there will be a stop at Weaver’s Needle, which is frequently visited by rock climbers and those searching for gold.  People have continued to comb this area because of a legend that the shadow it casts will lead to the Lost Dutchman’s Gold.

Along the way, you may be surprised at the amount of wildlife you encounter, including lizards, scorpions, tarantulas, coyotes, and others in addition to the cacti dotting the area.  If you so choose, you can also take a look around at night on the Hummer Night Tour from Scottsdale.  This tour takes you through the desert in total darkness, as your tour guide will use military Nite Vision to lead you along the path.  Guests use Nite Vision Scopes, allowing them to have a look at their surroundings and at the wildlife that are said to move around a lot more after dark.

For those who are interested in astronomy, there is a chance to try out the new “Sky Scout,” a handheld scope that gives audio and visual information on individual planets.  Each person on the tour gets their own so you can have a personal planetarium right at your fingertips!

Whether you choose to check out Phoenix’s desert during the day or at night, you are sure to gain a unique perspective on the area.  Seeing it all by Hummer allows you a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see it all up close like never before.

Rafting on the Colorado River

What better way to spend the day than rafting down the Colorado River? With the Grand Canyon River Rafting Experience from Flagstaff, you will ride from a designated hotel pick-up spot to Page, Arizona where you will view a video about the Northern Arizona area before climbing into a raft at the base of the Glen Canyon Dam and getting on your way.  You will float on the Colorado River for 4 hours in the company of your fellow travelers and a skilled guide, surrounded by incredible views of the area.

The Colorado River is smooth and calm, and you will see the Canyon walls around you, which rise over 1400 feet on both sides.  As you receive information from your guide about the area, you will see lots of wildlife and beautiful rock formations that seem to follow you on your path.  Among the many things you will see will be Vermillion and Echo Cliffs and Historic Lee’s Ferry.  You will also stop for a short hike to the Indian petroglyphs on your way to your picnic lunch on the banks of the river.

On the way back to your Sedona area hotel, you will stop at the historic Cameron Trading Post where you can shop for souvenirs and take a look at some amazing Native American artwork.  You will get to enjoy a movie on the drive to the hotel, which is approximately 3 hours from Page to Sedona.  The trip is not over once you board the bus, though.  Don’t forget to enjoy the view out the window as you drive along, as you will most definitely have some great photo ops along the way.
