Thanks for All the Feeback!

Wednesday, May 29th, 2013

Some people argue that this is the most overused word in English.

Every now and then, you just need to toot your own horn.

Social media helps everybody push their personal life to the forefront (should they so desire), and people can be pleasantly showy these days. We post updates and take pictures of our new haircuts, our new shoes, our lunches, our deliciously decadent desserts, our happy-hour drinks, our dogs, our cats, our dogs and our cats and the list goes on.

In general, we like to show who we are, and there’s absolutely no shame in that! On that note, we’re taking a shameless pause today and sharing some of the feedback we’ve gotten over the past few weeks. The weather’s warming up in our hemisphere, and that means people are getting out, doing things, and telling the tales of their adventures. We’re outrageously grateful for all the responses we receive, so if you’d like to share your experiences, feel free to do so in the comments or on any other social outlet – we’re everywhere!

Here are some highlights (all comments are posted as-is; they have not been edited in any way):

Sedona Sunset Adventure

“Our guide was on time, friendly, flexible and attentive to our every need. His knowledge of the area and it’s history was vast and his love of the red rocks was evident. The picnic provided was perfect; tablecloth, candlelight, wine glasses at our request. The food was indeed gourmet and the chocolate surprise ending was to die for.”

Halloween Haunts for Hire!

Chocolate Gifts from Chocolate.com.

Trick or treat?! We usher in the Fall season with massive planning efforts for Halloween over the coming weeks.  For those who don’t plan on staying home to hand out candy this year, here are a few of the places you can go to get spooked:

Plymouth, Massachusetts: Ghosts, orbs, and grave sites, oh my! On the Fright Night Halloween Ghost Tour in Plymouth, you can get an education on the different types of ghosts that stalk the area around Burial Hill.  Mystery and macabre come together on this lantern-lit walk where you can photograph the area and, later, watch for orbs of light in the developed pictures.

Washington, DC: On another walk, the Georgetown Ghost Walk, you will learn about the ghosts and spirits still haunting our US capital.  A trip through DC’s finest Victorian style neighborhood reveals much about the interesting lives of its now-dead inhabitants as they sometimes reveal themselves in spirit form.

Dallas: Whether you choose a Halloween-themed show like Keith & Margo’s Halloween Mystery Dinner Adventure or to put a different spin on things with the Haunting & Healing Paranormal Event in Dallas, you’re in for a good time for sure.  The dinner show includes an hors d’oeuvres reception, full 3-course sit-down dinner and dessert, and live entertainment in the form of an interactive live action murder mystery where you get to solve the crime and figure out whodunit.  The Haunting & Healing event gives you face time with four paranormal experts, which has been enjoyed by the likes of the queen of England and Dr. Seuss.  The experts channel their unique energy into a powerful grid of light and healing for all to witness.  It is truly a sight to behold.

London: If you happen to be overseas this Halloween, check out the Medieval Halloween Banquet in London.  The Brits do it up right with a celebration of the 500th anniversary of King Henry VIII taking possession of the throne.  Live entertainment, a night of disco, and a four-course banquet menu, along with unlimited beer and wine during the meal, make this a festive event to be enjoyed by all.  Not to mention the cast of characters in full dress, which adds to the delightfully scary atmosphere of it all.

No matter where you go or what you do, be sure to make it a scary day for the record books.  If you would like more information on any of these tours, visit www.Reserve123.com and tour type search for “Halloween.”

Get a History Lesson in Washington, DC

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

Just because the inauguration has come and gone does not mean that there is no longer a reason to visit Washington, DC.  Why not take a trip to this historical city at your leisure and explore it from the inside out to see what really makes it tick? With DC Tours, you have many different opportunities to do just that, with lunch and dinner cruises, night tours, and historical tours at your disposal.

If you are looking for a general overview of the city, take the Washington DC Hop-On-Hop-Off Open-Top Double-Decker Bus Tour.  With 25 stops throughout DC, there are lots of opportunities to get off the bus and walk around.  You can rejoin the tour at any time, and your ticket is good for two days with unlimited use during that time.  Should you decide to take the trip straight through, it will take you about two and a half hours in total.  Some of the stops along the way include Union Station, the US Capitol, Lincoln Memorial, Ford’s Theatre, Arlington National Cemetery, Embassy Row, and many others.  You can even follow the loop completely through once to get the lay of the land and then pick it up again later or the next day to revisit the stops of your choice.

As you can imagine, the city looks completely different during the day than it does at night.  That is where the Washington DC After Dark Tour comes in.  Your coach will take you to many of the sights listed above, but this time you will see them, quite literally, in a whole new light.  You will stop to check out the FDR and Vietnam Memorials, the nation’s Capitol building, the White House, and all the other structures that have become a significant part of US history, all shining brightly amid the backdrop of the night sky.

Once you have seen the basic layout of the city, you are ready to step inside some of the historicalbuildings that make up the landscape, and you can do this on the Washington DC Interior Buildings Tour.  While you will take a drive past the FBI Building, Washington Monument, and the Supreme Court, you can actually venture inside the World War II Memorial, National Air and Space Museum, the US Capitol and other well-known landmarks, making your experience that much richer.

While you may have missed seeing the new President get sworn in this month, that doesn’t mean you should miss out on experiencing the history and fun that awaits you in Washington, DC altogether.  Take a trip to the city this winter and you will be very glad that you did.  For more information, visit www.dctours.us and book your tickets today!
