The Travel Resolution

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2013

It’s goal time people! And it doesn’t have to be tedious. You’ve just spent time with family or reconnected with people you care about, it is natural to feel like this is the year to accomplish it all! And you can. There are some great tips for getting there and we’re sure you’ve heard many from just about every show and media outlet today. However, we want to focus on what we know and that is TRAVEL.

Love this product, take the stronger one if you have erectile dysfunction. Buy propecia online. You are guaranteed to find our products safe and best for your purposes.

Trending right now is setting resolutions that can be all summed up into one word. This way your goals are specific but follow a theme for the year. If your word is TRAVEL we can help.

Be Specific: Write down where you have always wanted to visit. Get specific. France just isn’t specific enough. There are people who live there who haven’t seen the whole country. Where must you visit in France? And think about what you love to do when you are at home. If you are a hiker, then travel to the countryside and walk or bike. If you cannot abide crowds, then give some of the more traditional tourist places a miss. Only see the Eiffel Tower if YOU want to. Investigate what is your heart’s desire and do that. We hope our website and blog can be helpful in your search.

Take Time Off Now: Many people look at their work calendar this week and most weeks in their year are pretty clear. Decide now when to take your vacation and take it off. Things at work will always get hectic and some people let years go by without using their vacation days! Having a time frame will be vital for accomplishing your TRAVEL goals. After all, if you never end up taking your trip, at least you will have time off to play at home.

Budget For Your Trip: Do the small amount of research it takes to determine your cost of your goal. If you must stay at the Ritz in London and this year your budget won’t allow it, maybe leave it until next year and visit the Grand Canyon instead. When you travel often will determine quite a chunk of the cost. If you are flexible on time of year, then you can get great deals. But, if you must see the cherry blossoms in Washington DC, you might pay a little more for the experience.

Over the holiday, our family watched Disney’s 2009 movie UP! We were struck by the montage of a husband and wife dropping coins into a jar labeled “Paradise Falls”. Their goal was to travel there and the movie portrayed that life just kept getting in the way with repairs and other things that took precedence  Sadly, the wife passed away before their goal had been met. The movie is the story of the aged husband trying to live that dream in the most unusual way.

Seize this year if travel is your heart’s desire. Your family will understand if you miss the fourth of July picnic this year if you are fulfilling your dream of seeing the Parthenon or diving the Great Barrier Reef. Have fun fulfilling your resolution this year!

An Old World Italian Christmas

Christmas in St Peter’s Square

The Italians know how to do a party! And Christmas in Italy is exactly that. They begin their celebrations 8 days before Christmas Day and it goes on afterwards until around the 6th of January. A full three weeks of merriment. These traditions fall along religious lines and are festive times of prayer, worship, gifts and food!

I can say that it gives me more vital energy. Order cialis canada! We’re a company that is dedicated to providing you the high-quality prescription medication you need.

December 8th begins with the Novena. It is a sacred church service that begins prayer services until Christmas Mass. This is the day of the Immacolata and is noted by the appearances of all the nativities and the Christmas Trees are lit.  In the evening families will gather round their nativity and pray and sing songs. Decorations are left up until the 6th of January. It’s very bad luck to leave them up any longer.

There is fun Italian proverb that goes: La vita è come un albero di natale, c’è sempre qualcuno che rompe le palle.

In English that’s: Life is like a Christmas tree, there’s always someone who breaks the balls.

Explore Phoenix by Hummer

Monday, January 12th, 2009

Take a trip to Phoenix and you will immediately feel like you have been transported to a whole different time.  The city is full of history dating back to the mid-1800s when it was formally incorporated, and as you tour the area you will be given a rundown on pivotal points on Phoenix’s historical timeline.

A great way to experience the rugged terrain is on one of the Hummer Tours offered by Phoenix Tours.  On the Four Peaks Hummer Tour in particular, you will cruise around in your comfortable vehicle and enjoy outstanding views of  Arizona’s peaks as you journey along the rough and rocky ground.

You will visit Saguaro Lake, which is a favorite boating location that is brimming with various species of fish.  It is located between Phoenix and Sunflower.  The Superstition Mountains, also highlighted on the trip, are a preferred recreational area for Phoenix area residents and provide the perfect backdrop for your tour.  Finally, there will be a stop at Weaver’s Needle, which is frequently visited by rock climbers and those searching for gold.  People have continued to comb this area because of a legend that the shadow it casts will lead to the Lost Dutchman’s Gold.

Along the way, you may be surprised at the amount of wildlife you encounter, including lizards, scorpions, tarantulas, coyotes, and others in addition to the cacti dotting the area.  If you so choose, you can also take a look around at night on the Hummer Night Tour from Scottsdale.  This tour takes you through the desert in total darkness, as your tour guide will use military Nite Vision to lead you along the path.  Guests use Nite Vision Scopes, allowing them to have a look at their surroundings and at the wildlife that are said to move around a lot more after dark.

For those who are interested in astronomy, there is a chance to try out the new “Sky Scout,” a handheld scope that gives audio and visual information on individual planets.  Each person on the tour gets their own so you can have a personal planetarium right at your fingertips!

Whether you choose to check out Phoenix’s desert during the day or at night, you are sure to gain a unique perspective on the area.  Seeing it all by Hummer allows you a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see it all up close like never before.

St. Louis Sights

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

To visit St. Louis is to experience the true uniqueness of the Missouri landscape lined with beautiful architectural pieces that define the city and contribute to its distinctiveness.  St. Louis is a modern city whose focus is primarily on medicine and biotechnology.  However, there is a strong historic influence there as well.  Along Route 66, you will pass by some bowling alleys, motels, and other venues that have managed to hold onto their 1950s feel.

For a closer look at the city’s architectural prowess, take the St. Louis Architecture Tour by SUV.  The tour will take you to the city’s most distinguished buildings from old to new, including Sugar Loaf Mound, Grant’s Farm House, Forest Park and Bevo Hill, among others.  You will also visit all three St. Louis Water Towers.  This is important because only seven historic standpipe towers in the entire United States have survived to this day.

These tours carry only two to six passengers, so groups are intimate enough to ask questions and large enough for you to gain the experience and expertise of others on the trip including your knowledgeable tour guide who will also be present to steer you in the right direction.

If you are dying to take a more nontraditional tour but aren’t sure where to start, try out the St. Louis Beer Lovers Tour.  Throughout the day you will sample a variety of beers from large and small breweries as you travel to Anheuser-Busch, Schlafly, Trailhead, and more.  This trip is personalized to fit the needs of your small group.

As you can see, there is much fun to be had on your visit to Missouri, if you know where to look.  Why not start your trip out right by researching your options ahead of time? Check out www.stlouistours.net for more details and to reserve tickets for your best tours yet!
