Poetic Icelandic Views

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

Though the island country of Iceland is small, there is plenty to do during a vacation.  With stunning sights of sand fields, mountains and glaciers, the country is so beautiful it may render you speechless.  Because the land is so scenic and exquisite the tours, activities and attractions are based around the outdoor wilderness.  So if spending time outdoors is your thing, then visiting Iceland is an excellent decision.

Tours in Iceland can provide you and your group with activities and attraction tickets while visiting Iceland that can help make your vacation better than you could ever have imagined.

To see some of the major spots in Iceland, try out the City Sightseeing and Gullfoss & Geysir Express Tour.  The tour begins in Reykjavik where the group will visit the stunning white and red Presidential Residence at Bessastaðir.  Also, the city of Hafnarfjörður will be explored during your tour.  This town is the site of an annual festival where Viking culture is brought back to life with reconstructions of Viking garb, handcraft and sword-fighting.

An additional part of this tour is the ride up to the countryside to the National Park at Þingvellir.  The park was founded to protect the remains of the parliament site and later expanded in order to preserve natural phenomena in the surrounding area.

The journey continues to the geothermal area of Geysir and the Gullfoss Waterfall.  The beautiful icy blue tint in the water is a wonderful contrast against the natural greens, oranges and browns of the land surrounding it.  This tour is a great way to get a feel of both a city and the nature of Iceland.

For something equally as thrilling but at night, try out the Northern Lights Mystery Tour.  In the darkness between the fall and spring, you may be lucky enough to sight one of nature’s most spectacular phenomena:  the Northern Lights.  Otherwise known as Aurora Borealis, the shapes of these bright hues are nothing short of poetic.  The swirling green, red, and violet lights are enchanting and make you wonder how something so incredibly beautiful could possibly exist.

Other great activities in Iceland that all visitors should try are the scuba or snorkeling tours as well as a visit to Mt. Hekla in a Jeep.

The country is full of fun adventures for you and your group to enjoy.  Make your visit to Iceland simply magnificent by reserving your tours, activities and attraction tickets through Tours in Iceland at
