One Direction Lands in NYC

Thursday, July 18th, 2013

A couple weeks ago, Madame Tussauds in London unveiled three new Michael Jackson figures, and unlike some statues in other wax museums, the replicas are incredibly lifelike.

Well… it seems their family across the pond is trying to top that exhibit, because the latest traveling set has just arrived to New York City: One Direction! The British Natives have recently taken over American top-40 airwaves and have won the hearts of teenage fangirls across the land. Now, their wax figures are ready to win your affections. The representation of Harry Styles is almost indistinguishable from the real thing (above image, front row, second to last on the far right), and Zayn, Louis, Liam and Niall look pretty darn good, too.

Click here for tickets, and check out another expressive photo after the jump. (more…)

Fashion in the City

Tuesday, June 25th, 2013

Here’s a subject you probably didn’t think you’d find on a travel blog: fashion.

In my humble opinion, New Yorkers have the best street style out there, but if you’re looking for some haute couture (because, why wouldn’t you be?), apparently this is the city. We had to join the fun.

Admire New York City’s top runway models as they strut down an extravagant 60-foot catwalk. From influential boutique designers, stylists, fashion photographers, hair and makeup artists, each show is truly a memorable event.

Pioneering an exclusive opportunity, both New York locals and global visitors are invited to experience this season’s current fashion trends in a vibrant live fashion show!

The show produces live fashion shows showcasing the latest trends in the fashion industry. As the fashion capital of the world, Manhattan is where the most influential designers come to showcase their collections at exclusive invite-only fashion shows. However, at New York Fashion Shows, your host believes that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the thrill and excitement of attending a live fashion show.

There’s even a VIP option! Check it out, here.

Holiday Tour Season is Here

See the Holiday Lights of New York Tour by Minibus

The most wonderful time of the year is here. By now, you’ve likely already made booked your flights and/or rental cars, and all your holiday travel preparations are probably in order. The kids are getting excited. Everyone is getting a jump start on the grocery shopping. You’ve dug up those criminally decorative sweaters from the hidden depths of your closet, and the camera you received Christmas last year is charged, loaded and ready capture.  The local department stores have put up the lights,  holiday commercials have began to air on television, and depending on where you live, there may now be snow on the ground. In general, the atmosphere has shifted, and unless you’ve been bitten by the “bah, hum-bug,” you’re ready to spread and share the cheer.

i enjoyed this product very much, but it can be a little too sweet but very tangy and tasty! Order cialis online! All the medications one can see in our product lists are generic.

Holiday lights are always fun to explore. Which house has the most extravagant display in the neighborhood? How will the park top last year’s arrangement? If you keep your eyes peeled, you might even catch a live nativity demonstration somewhere. The music is merry and bright, Santa is on every other corner, and it’s perfectly acceptable to sip eggnog with breakfast, lunch and dinner. While you’re re-creating you’re favorite recipes in the kitchen, consider adding some spice to your leisure time as well. Take a holiday excursion of some sort! Cruises, coach tours, and trolley rides are all sure ways to see a town in all its magical glory. Here are some of our favorites

General Jackson Holiday Dinner Cruise & Show in Nashville (here): Everything takes place in a glittering two-story theater, where you will enjoy a delicious holiday dinner, and a heart-warming show, filled with holiday classics and contemporary songs of the season, with a country twist. Check it out, y’all!

See the Holiday Lights of New York Tour by Minibus (as pictured): Other tours might keep you on the bus the whole time, but on the Holiday Lights of New York Tour by Minibus, your guide will hop off the shuttle with you and show you Christmas the way New York does it. You’re guaranteed to see the best holiday lights NYC has to offer.

Holiday Lights Tour on the Waikiki Trolley in Honolulu (here): If you’re lucky enough to be spending the holidays in Hawaii, then you’ll definitely want to see downtown Honolulu. It comes alive in a veritable galaxy of festive holiday lights.

Classic Cable Car Holiday Lights Tour in San Francisco (here): The Classic Cable Car rides are already glamorous by themselves, but when you throw the holiday lights in the mix… well, there are no words. You’ll even get a complimentary Santa’s hat!

We’ve got plenty of other holiday touring options, so take a look and see how you can participate in making things festive this year. Even if you won’t be traveling this season, explore your own town! We hope you’re pleasantly surprised by the sights.

Happy travels!

Double Decker Bus Tour

Double Decker Bus Tour

“In New York, concrete jungle
where dreams are made of
There’s nothin’ you can’t do
Now you’re in New York
These streets will make you
feel brand new
Big lights will inspire you
Let’s hear it for New York,
New York, New York”

I think that Alicia Keys and Jay-Z summed it up pretty well. New York really is like being on another planet; a great melting pot of culture, design, architecture, and attitude.

My brother and I visited NYC a few years ago, and had a great time sightseeing in the city and visiting the Empire State Building. For my first visit to New York, I decided to go with a classic – the New York Classic Double Decker Tour, to be precise – to gain a nice overview of New York City and Manhattan.

New York Classic Double Decker Tour

New York Classic Double Decker Tour

It’s easy to get lost in the endless sights and sounds and lights everywhere, and this tour covers the major sightseeing spots and landmarks of the city.

You will enjoy the best sights in Manhattan during the day and at night, with unlimited hop-on, hop-off service at over 40 stops on our double decker bus. There is an Uptown Loop, Downtown Loop, Brooklyn Loop, and The Night Loop, and your pass is good for 48 hours to use as you wish.

Plus, this fun-filled tour includes a ticket for the ferry to the Statue of Liberty / Ellis Island AND admission ticket to either the Empire State Building or the Top of the Rock Observation Deck. What more could you ask for? Well, stopping for pizza along the way of course, if you’re like me. 8)
