Transportation Station: Getting from Point A to B in Atlanta

Atlanta Skyline

Unlike other large metropolitan areas around the country, you’re slightly limited in Atlanta, as far as getting to your destination goes. In New York City, Chicago, and San Francisco, to name a few places, the train or a bus will basically take you anywhere you’d like within the city. They have taxis sitting on almost every corner, waiting to scoop you up and drop you off wherever you fancy. In addition, lots of attractions and other popular spots are within walking distance from your hotel, so you don’t really need a car to get around.

Great product!!! Best I have found in several years taking medicines. Viagra buy! Each of these medications are Indian FDA approved and are internationally certified, so you know our products are safe.

This is not the case in Atlanta.

Alcatraz Island in San Francisco - the infamous and notorious former federal prison

Alcatraz Island in San Francisco – the infamous and notorious former federal prison

I had an amazing time on my trip to San Francisco, thanks to several fantastic tours I had the opportunity to take. An absolute must-do tour in San Francisco is to visit the notorious former prison on Alcatraz Island! This is the most popular tourist attraction in San Francisco, and the Alcatraz Tour & San Francisco City Tour that I took combines a wonderful 3-hour San Francisco city tour with a tour of “The Rock”. Take a sightseeing excursion through San Francisco, and enjoy a tour of Alcatraz Island. You will thoroughly enjoy touring Alcatraz and walking through the cell block where Al Capone, George “Machine Gun” Kelley, and Robert “The Birdman” Stroud, and many others were once held. The infamous prison is located on Alcatraz Island – just a 10-minute ferry ride from San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf. Alcatraz tours are often sold out up to two weeks in advance, so be sure to book early.

The Painted Ladies

The Painted Ladies

On the San Francisco city tour, you will see all the major sights in San Francisco – from Alcatraz Landing to the Golden Gate Bridge to the Pacific Ocean to the Twin Peaks and to Chinatown. Tour highlights include Fisherman’s Wharf, The Marina District, San Francisco Bay, Palace of Fine Arts, Presidio National Park, Golden Gate Park, Ocean Beach and Pacific Ocean, Italian North Beach, Victorian Homes (Painted Ladies), Cable Cars, Nob Hill, Civic Center, City Hall, Opera House, Financial District, Union Square, Coit Tower, Bay Bridge, Ghirardelli Square, and so much more.

Muir Woods

Muir Woods

Another excellent tour is the Muir Woods & Wine Country Tour by Van from San Francisco. Journey north over the Golden Gate Bridge to Muir Woods National Monument. Enjoy solitude and peace as you stroll through 1000 year old trees towering 260 feet tall. Muir Woods is the only old-growth coastal redwood forest in the Bay Area and one of the last on the planet. Continuing on the excursion, take in the stunning scenery as you travel father north into Sonoma Valley, one of the most prized wine regions of Northern California. Once in the Wine Country, you will spend the afternoon sampling wines at three to four wineries. Then, as the day unwinds you will journey back to San Francisco, and enjoy a picturesque stop at the Golden Gate Bridge to witness the awe-inspiring view of the city from the Marin Headlands – the perfect ending to one very memorable day.

Dinner Dance Cruise

Dinner Dance Cruise

The San Francisco Dinner Dance Cruise was my last wonderful experience in San Francisco. As the sun sets, and city lights twinkle from the Bay Bridge to the Golden Gate, this Dinner Dance Cruise turns on the charm. A four-course, sit-down meal includes appetizers, salad, a choice of entrée and dessert, while live music and dancing round out this ideal sightseeing trip or special evening out. It’s the perfect way to end the day and perhaps take in a beautiful Pacific sunset as you board the ship, and later cheers as you watch San Francisco light up at night along with the stars.

The Embarcadero & Cupid's Span in San Francisco

The Embarcadero & Cupid

These tours gave me a great taste of what San Francisco has to offer, and I would recommend them to anyone who plans to visit the area. Visit San Francisco Tours and Alcatraz Island Sightseeing to plan your stay at the City by the Bay. Perhaps Tony Bennett put it best with these famous song lyrics: I left my heart in San Francisco. High on a hill, it calls to me. To be where little cable cars climb halfway to the stars. The morning fog may chill the air, I don’t care. My love waits there, in San Francisco, above the blue and windy sea. When I come home to you, San Francisco, your golden sun will shine for me!

If you want to see the city of Toronto but want to call your own shots, take the Toronto Hop On Hop Off City Tour. This option combines the knowledge and skill of a professional tour guide with the convenience of picking and choosing which spots to explore. You have the luxury of getting on and off the bus to have a closer look at an area, and you can rejoin the tour at any time within 3 touring days. This allows you to see what you want, skip what you don’t, and pick up where you left off.It is perfect for those who are in town for a conference or to visit loved ones since you can fit it into your schedule whenever you have time.

This double-decker tour does not disappoint. The bus has two loops, one running north to south and the other east to west. Each loop has some distinctive stops, so some might decide to take both, one each day. On the north-south loop, one of the highlights is the stop at Casa Loma, a beautiful castle on a hill and the estate of a well-known Toronto financier.Guests also appreciate some time at the Entertainment and Fashion Districts as well as the Toronto Music Garden. On the east-west loop you will want to pay particular attention to Little Italy, Chinatown, and Koreatown where there are some great buys and of course mouth-watering food.Take the opportunity to hop off the bus at some of these points if you decide you want to spend some more time there; it is very easy to find the bus again and hop back on to continue the tour.

Muir Woods and Sausalito Tours

Feeling old? I have the perfect solution.  Visit Muir Woods, where you will be surrounded by some of the tallest and oldest redwood trees that exist today.  Muir Woods, which is considered a National Monument, is comprised of 560 acres of redwood forest and 50 species of birds, steelhead trout, black-tailed deer, and hundreds of others.  Travel through the Cathedral and Bohemian Groves, where the trees stand at up to 252 feet tall and 14 feet across and some are up to 1,000 years old! Take a self-guided tour and visit the paved main trail for educational exhibits on these monstrous redwoods.

For an excellent combination of nature and nurture, take the Muir Woods and Sausalito Tour by Bus.  After an hour in Muir Woods, travel along a coastal road to Sausalito where you will be able to shop and enjoy the view from the bay or stop in a gallery or two.  Sausalito, located just north of the Golden Gate Bridge, is home to some of the country’s wealthiest citizens, so on your travels make sure to take notice of the fabulous mansions along the way.

This tour lasts 3-4 hours, with an hour-long stop at Muir Woods and 45 minutes in Sausalito.  Some of the other tour highlights include: Golden Gate Bridge, The Marina, Presidio, Marin Headlands, the Palace of Fine Arts, and Mt. Tamalpais.  There are plenty of opportunities to take pictures, so don’t forget to stock up on batteries for your camera!

Fine Art and Architecture in Florence

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

Florence, located in the heart of Tuscany, is surrounded by the Apennine Mountains and gorgeous Tuscan vineyards and olive groves.  Like the rest of Italy, it is known for bearing famous artists and stunning architecture like Santa Maria del Fiore, or ‘The Duomo.’

Perhaps one of the most well-known artists – and one-time residents of Florence – who ever lived is Michelangelo, who created the incredible marble sculpture of the David, modeled after a young and nude Israelite king David, as he decides to go to battle with Goliath.  The City Sightseeing Hop On Hop Off Bus Tour in Florence Italy gives you the chance to surround yourself with priceless works of art such as this one, along with Botticelli’s Venus and other famous works kept in the Galleria dell’ Accademia  and Uffizi Gallery.  It also takes a stop at the Duomo, a fine work of architecture whose dome was designed by Filippo Brunelleschi in 1419 during a competition to win the commission.  Brunelleschi drew his inspiration from the Pantheon in Rome.  He was later buried at the Duomo and his tomb is open for public viewing to this day.

One of the stops on this tour is the Palazzo Pitti, often known in English as Pitti Palace.  It is located south of the River Arno and close to the Medieval bridge, Ponte Vecchio.  Palazzo Pitti was used as a power base for Napoleon in the 18th century and briefly served as the primary palace in Italy.  Today it is open to the public and serves as one of Florence’s largest art galleries.

This tour is worth its weight in gold, as it allows you to see in person what you may have only seen in books and in copied prints before.  For artists and those who appreciate talent and beauty in traditional and nontraditional forms, this tour is definitely for you.

Visit www.florencetours.net for details on how you can make your trip to Florence truly memorable!
