Getting To Know Our Family – John

Friday, May 10th, 2013

Hello there! My name is John and I have had a great time working here at Reserve 123 for over three and a half years. Time flies! I got into travel at the early age of eight during viagra alternative  one of my most memorable family trips to Niagara Falls.  But, I took it to the next level when I got to visit the lush Welsh countryside in the UK. One of my favorite tours was Rome, the Vatican and Northern Italy. I am very excited to help our customers have the same experience where ever they are in the world.

In fact, I feel that travel experience is vital for my job and it certainly helped when I helped guide a lost customer remotely through the streets of Dublin to find one of our tour providers. It was wonderful to help and that’s why I’m here! I hope to do more travelling and my bucket list is full of places like Croatia, Turkey and more of the UK, especially Scotland and Ireland. I have spent 10 days a year for over 20 years boating and diving in the Bahamas so one day you might find me living it up on a coast somewhere!

So happy to be of service and get to know you better.

Getting to Know Our Family – Michael

Thursday, February 7th, 2013

Hello, my name is Michael and I’ve had the privilege of working here at Reserve 123 for over two years! Around here I do a bit of everything and am involved in special projects and am sort of a discount viagra mister-fix-it guy. I know what is like to have a very special memorable trip. Mine was going to New York and Washington DC at Christmas time. It was so meaningful and my favorite tour still has to be that of the White House. But, I like to vacation where it is warm and love cruises. One day you will find me on my own island in the Caribbean, scuba diving all day long!

Well, until that happens, I love helping our customers and I had a great experience once helping a lady and her daughter gt tickets to the Statue of Liberty on the last boat of the day. I got them there on time by directing them to the correct subway train.  They boarded the train and had tickets waiting for them ten minutes later when they arrived.  It was more of a miracle than customer service. And I love that about my job.

So, that’s a bit about me and I look forward to assisting you any way I can. Thank you for using Reserve 123.

First up we have Nicara, one of our lovely Reservations Agents, as Little Red Riding Hood. Don’t let her sweet smile deceive you though – she totally destroyed that Big Bad Wolf, all by herself.

Next to her is Dra, one of our awesome Group & Charter Sales Support agents, as a crossplay of Alex DeLarge from the film “A Clockwork Orange,” a 1971 film that was written, directed and produced by Stanley Kubrick, adapted from Anthony Burgess’s 1962 novella A Clockwork Orange about a dystopian, future Britain.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is tomorrow! We hope that you will celebrate it with your loved ones and hope that you will be in the kitchen helping that brave soul prepare the turkey! We all have so much to be thankful for and tomorrow we get to share our thanks with the people we care for the most.

We would like to share a couple of things that we are thankful for:

“Family, friends, health… our pet family… and having great jobs!” – Carolyn

“I am thankful that I have been blesses to see another year. I am also thankful for great family, friends, and for working with wonderful people. The list goes on and on, but I will stop right there! J” – Tamesha

“My family. My friends. My sanity. <– not necessarily in this order.” – Sacki

“I’m thankful to have a fun job, a family that loves and helps me, and great friends that support me.” – Michael

“I am most thankful to have God as my guide each day, I am thankful for my family, friends, and daily encounters with new people. There are a lot of things that I can name to be thankful for so I won’t go on and on about it, but most of all, I’m thankful to have life, health, strength, and a job in an unstable economy.” – Chae

“I’m thankful for my parents because they’ve supported me and all my crazy ideas and put with my weird humor for a very long time.” – Kris

The Reserve 123 staff wants to wish you a wonderful and fantastic Thanksgiving!

Meet Janice – Accountant during the day and… if it’s a busy day, an accountant at night as well

Chocolate Gifts from

Janice doesn’t dress like this every day, but if she did, it would make accounting a lot more fun. I may actually start a petition for weekly Janice costumes.

The majority of us don’t care too much for numbers. With numbers, there is always an answer, even if the answer is zero that unravels the mystery of a parabola in some graph we have forgotten how to read, there will always be an answer. Unfortunately, those answers can get a bit large and complicated with decimals and multiplication. Throw in some division in there and you got yourself at least an hour’s worth of work for me. (I’m kidding!) This is why we love Janice so much. She and Sacki crunch these numbers together and financial tasks are completed, and most importantly, people get paid. She makes numbers into money, and I take that money and buy food and stupid apps for my phone, which is why I think she’s the bee’s knees.

Janice not only does the number crunching, she and Michelle make sure the office is running smoothly by fixing computers and throwing away random office plants I’ve never seen before (who knew there was practically a tree growing in Tony’s office?). She does all of this with a smile and a couple of jokes in between tasks. Buzzing around the office, Janice is always in a good mood and is willing to help anyone who asks.

So meet Janice, you may end up loving her as much as we do.

K: What do you do at Reserve123?

J: I am an accounting manager. I work with Sacki, and we process all of the payroll and the supplier invoices for payment. We also handle all of the company banking

K: What is your favorite city and why?

J: My favorite city is Monaco just because it’s beautiful, the people are kind, and the scenery is awesome!

K: What city would you like to visit?

J: I would like to go to Honolulu. I’ve never been to Hawaii, so I would LOVE to go! It’s one of those bucket list things to do. I would also like to go to England, but I’d rather see Hawaii first!

K: Besides experiencing a new city, what is your favorite part about traveling?

J: I like going to the out of the way places like the cafes and meet the locals. Ask them “What do you do for a living” or “How many children do you have?” I enjoy human interest type stuff and get involved with the culture.

K: What is your advice for starting a conversation with a local?

J: Find something you want to compliment or something you want to question them. It’s especially easy to compliment women on their jewelry or clothes. I mean, who doesn’t like getting complimented? There are a lot of times where people are just really friendly and are not intimidating at all.

K: If you can do a U.S. road trip, what kind of road trip would it be?

J:I would like to go to every national park in every state. If they don’t have a park, I’ll go to a state park or a big city… that is something I would definitely like to do one day.

K: What would be three songs you would have on your travel playlist?

J: Gotta have The Eagles – Hotel California, Elton John. Really, anything that’s 1970s to 1980s rock and roll music.

K: Driver or passenger on these road trips?

J: Oh I’d love to be a passenger. I hate driving; I actually prefer to fly. I admit that I am not a good driver…ugh I just find driving boring and tedious.

K: Oh even if you have a limousine?

J: Oh if I had a limo and I’m the passenger, no problem! A little champagne, a little music, and we’re good to go!

K: Your opinion on Hawaii floral shirts during vacation – Yay or nay?

J: I think they’re great. Do what you want to do!

K: In unrelated travel news, how have you fared at the chili cook offs you have attended?

J: We’ve done very well. We’ve placed 3rd, 7th, 8th, and 10th!

K: How many speeds do you have?

J: Two – off and high. I really do! I’ve been told that all my life.

Halloween Costume Contest

Friday, November 4th, 2011

Say Thank You with fresh fruit, bakery treats and towering sweets from - 468x60

We like to celebrate Halloween as a week long event, at least, in our blog. ;)

Not only did we celebrate the holiday with food, we also dressed up for our costume contest! We had flappers, demons, spies wandering through our office as we worked throughout the day anticipating for 5:00 p.m. to roll around and start our festive office after party! Ha ha, just kidding… or am I?

Allison dressed up as a flapper

Barbara is wearing a witchy disguise in the office.

We have Janice dressed up as… well, I’m not really sure. I think the office narrowed it down to an American patriot, an Occupy Wall Street protestor, and umm… we’re just not sure.

John dressed up in classic Halloween garb – a demon giving you a thumbs up.

Kris dressed up as a rocket because there aren’t enough rockets in the world.

Lauren dressed as a seductive vampire (who can resist a girl in a cape?).

Michael dressed as the better half of the Twilight series, Edward.

Michelle wore a pretty cool skeleton costume. Get it?!

Tony dressed up as the suave 007.

We were happy to see people participate in the contest, but there was only one winner and that winner is…

Hooray, I won! *does the happy dance* I win a night in the Hotel Midtown. I have 24 hours in a room to myself that is free from any responsibilities. What shall I do, what shall I do…

Perhaps do a little bed jumping. Make signs for the my window so the people can read it from below. Maybe write my name in lights and see if I can see my name from the ground.  Swim about half a lap in their indoor pool because I’ll get so tired I’m afraid I’ll drown if I try to do a whole lap. Get my shoes shined…

What do you think I should do with my free night in a hotel? Comment below, por favor!

Halloween Lunch!

Thursday, November 3rd, 2011

Cheap Hotels

While you were perusing our blog (I hope you were perusing our blog!), we were Halloweening it up at the office.

Allison, chargeback pusher and party planner extraordinaire, decorated the break room with cobwebs and ordered delicious BBQ for lunch. The standard BBQ accouterments were served like macaronic and cheese, green beans, something else that was so good that all I can remember is the empty platter that it was in, and Halloweenies (pigs in a blanket)! Most importantly, we had peach cobbler. I distinctly remember Evonne and Sacki raving about the dessert as I made my way to the baking pan, and I saw it sitting there in all of its warm and gooey glory. The peach cobbler was definitely one of the many highlights of the day.

Allison knew exactly what everyone wanted on Halloween and that was candy! There was a mountain of goodie bags next to the eyeballs in the break room, and it was beautiful.  So what if we’re adults, we still enjoy a couple of sweet tarts and twizzlers in our goodie bags!

Enjoying our lunch buffet

Janice and John posing for Allison. Don’t they  make a lovely pair?

Thank you Allison and Michelle for coordinating the Halloween lunch!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween! Did you dress up? Did you steal some candy out of the candy bowl? Tell us what you dressed up as and what’s your favorite candy in the comments below!

Happy Halloween!

Hybrid 468x60
The best thing about Halloween is not the candy; it’s not the decorations; it’s not the season 2 premiere of The Walking Dead (gasp); it’s not even the annual over-indulgence of candy corn. It’s the simple fact that everyone can enjoy it and everyone can dress up!

It’s not just for kids, though I have seen some ADORABLE babies dress up as pumpkins, it’s for everyone and everything. I asked the office to submit some of their favorite Halloween pictures.

Kathy submitted this awesome picture of her granddaughter Madison as a vampire. This girl has got skills, just check out her shoes.

Allison shared her picture of Cappie, her golden retriever, wearing his ‘rodeo bull’ costume.

This is a picture of Allison and her husband at an 80’s party. Please note the very well dressed yuppie talking on a cellphone which is about the size of my shoe.

It really should be 80's night every night

Tamesha shared this picture of Tamaya as a pink maid, Princess Kiyah, the bashful vampire Jay, and Lili as a quiet little vampire. Jay is the cutest vampire I have ever seen, and I just want to pinch his little cheeks!

Time to go trick-or-treating!

Sondra shared this picture of a tiny, tiny fireman named Crouton. HA!

Little Crouton

Avery is a marine, Austin is a zombie marine, and Madison is a little princess. Love that Austin took two costume ideas and made it into the coolest costume ever. Picture is by Michelle.

Last year, I had to make a costume last minute and came up with Mathilda from The Professional.

Congratulations Brooke!

We’re happy to announce that Brooke from Charters is ENGAGED!

Brooke and Sean

Sean, Brooke’s boyfriend of two years, popped the question in a weekend getaway to Stone Mountain. They climbed to the top of the mountain where he asked the big question.

Thinking it was a joke, Brooke couldn’t believe that he was asking her hand in marriage until he finally showed her the ring! Brooke and Sean have playfully talked about the idea of marriage, but she was completely surprised when he decided to ask her that weekend!

Brooke and Sean first met when their friends set them up on a blind date. Like all blind dates, they can be a bit scary, but Brooke’s friend ensured her that Sean would be a perfect match. When Brooke finally met Sean, she was instantly smitten with him, and the rest is history.

When she told her mother about the engagement, her mother started to cry tears of joy. When she met Brooke’s then-boyfriend Sean, she bought a dress, which she didn’t reveal to Brooke until a year ago. She knew for sure that he was the man for her daughter! Brooke made the announcement to her mother by asking her, “Do you still have that dress?”

There’s still much excitement in the air, and Brooke is starting to make arrangements for the wedding. They are planning a small, romantic ceremony on a Florida beach for the spring.Because of the intimate setting, Brooke, her sister, and another friend will be planning the wedding.

What was supposed to be a quiet weekend turned into a cherished memory for both Brooke and Sean. Congratulations from the staff!
