We’ve covered some reasons why you should stay at a bed and breakfast, and now we’re laying out why you might consider staying at a hotel. This post is for all the solo travelers out there, and in short, yes! You should definitely consider staying at a hostel. Hostels are extremely popular among students, but they’re a great alternative for all ages to traditional lodging options. For those who are used to hotels, staying at a hostel is likely out of the comfort zone, but that’s not always a bad thing – especially while traveling. Breaking out of your comfort zone often makes for amazing stories, and we have a few reasons why you should book a hostel on your next trip.
They encourage you to get more social
Hostels are often set-up like dormitories, only better! The restrooms are cleaner, there’s no loud music interrupting your sleep (because everyone is respectful of each other) and everyone is there for the same reason – to travel! It’s a great way to meet new people, and the common areas are great for socializing. Just make sure to be respectful of your roommates.
It doesn’t get any simpler than this. Hostels are often way less expensive than traditional lodging options. There’s a trade off. You won’t get the plush turn-down service, and you room will not be a private suite, but if you pick the right hostel, it will be just as clean and comfortable as the Fuzzy Inn & Suites down the road – with a bit of company in the bed next to you.
They’re conveniently located
Most hostels are right in the heart of the city, making it easy to get to your desired destinations. A centralized location means easy access to public transit, different restaurants and local hotspots.
Have you ever stayed at a hostel? Were you happy with the decision?
